Kinski is a four-piece rock band from Seattle, on Sub Pop Records. Their unique evocation of avant-rock is deconstructionist and heady, but also emotive and visceral. NME described Kinski as: "Like Sabbath in a washing machine during a power surge." The Seattle Times put it more simply, "Kinski is one of the finest rock bands Seattle has produced." Comprised of guitarists Chris Martin and Matthew Reid-Schwartz (Matthew also plays keyboards and flute), bassist Lucy Atkinson, and drummer Barrett Wilke, Kinski have toured with Mission of Burma, Comets on Fire, Oneida, Mono, Acid Mothers Temple, Black Mountain, and more recently opened a month of dates for Tool on their spring '07 tour. The year 2008 finds Kinski on tours in Europe and a smattering of festivals, whilst simultaneously working on their tans and cocktail concoctions, and orbiting the globe to consolidate their power to unleash new sounds on the sonic topography.
