LAUNCH dance theater
Seattle's Ricki Mason presents an excerpt of her solo work "I've Never Been Good at Arranging Flowers" which debuted at HaLo dance space in 2007. The piece, set in pre-war Paris, crosses generations and continents while demonstrating the enduring power of love.
NW Professional Dance Project
Portland's five-year-old dance institution presents "A Fine Balance," a pas de deux choreographed by Artistic Director Sarah Slipper. Slipper has created over 20 works for numerous companies in Canada and the U.S. including the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Oregon Ballet Theatre. "A Fine Balance" was a finalist for the prestigious Benois de la Danse award in 2006 and was performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as part of the awards gala celebration.
