Rolling Stone’s Rock Daily catches up with Beck in the studio and shares choice new information on the upcoming Modern Guilt. (via Stereogum)
[The album] is full of off-kilter rhythms and left-field breakdowns, with an overall 1960s British vibe. Beck’s vocals float over the music as if he’s singing along to some mystical radio station in the next room. “I can’t tell you how many times I wrote and recorded a complete song,” Beck says, “and then just took everything away but the drumbeat and wrote a whole new song.”

Popmatters reviews a recent Toronto performance from Blitzen Trapper and Bumbershoot video soundtrack stars (and ’07 performers) Fleet Foxes.
They seem to know just how good they are, and revel in their tightness, their intensity, and their passion. At the same time, there’s nothing even remotely arrogant about them. This is a live act it’s hard not to enjoy.
