Reduce

These days it’s important to take the first step towards sustainability by reducing our overall consumption habits. At Bumbershoot this means:

Looking at our use of power (and seeking greener power sources)
Examining the Festival’s signage (banners, scrims, etc) and printed materials (program, brochures, etc) and limiting production where we can, examining the necessary sizes, and seeking more sustainable source materials
Seeking organic cotton merchandise options to reduce use of pesticides
Reducing waste with plenty of public recycle bins, recycling Festival materials, enforcing pre-consumer composting and a ban on the use of Styrofoam by Festival vendors
Encouraging use of non-disposable water bottles (with free Hydration Stations)
Encouraging alternative transportation
